Many of us who long to be steadfast and intimate with God often ask this question.
How can I be pure, when daily I am surrounded, and confronted with different things that stand as tests, trails, and temptations?
How can I be pure, when I know that staying spotless in these world is not easy; even the world itself is filled with so much dirt here and there?
How can I be pure, when I am in a world that presents several platforms for me to stumble and fall?
How can I be pure, when I am tempted in my relationship, at my place of work, and even in the church?
HOW CAN I BE PURE?
Dear brothers and sisters, if the above have been your quest or question, I bring you an answer that is not far-fetched.
While studying and meditating sometime ago, God revealed to me a way in which I can be pure. It has really helped me over the years, and I am glad to share it with you.
Psalms 119:9 says: How can a young person stay pure? BY OBEYING YOUR WORD.
Beloved, without beating around the bush, I present to you the answer to your long term question: HOW CAN I BE PURE?
You can be pure by consistent study, meditation and obedience to the WORD OF GOD.
King David said in Psalms 119 vs 11: “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”
When you study and meditate on the word of God, the word of God is stored up in your heart, thereby disallowing fleshly desires and giving no room for sin.
Psalms 119 vs 105 says: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The word of God is as light. It guards and guides your path, but absence of His word in your life will result in total darkness, hence why you often stumble and fall into sin.
Beloved, you must device a means to consistently study the word of God. You can do these by listening to sermons by our Fathers in faith, by using a daily devotional/study guide, by going for bible study in your church/fellowship, by going through the books of the bible as the spirit leads etc.
…and as you start to study, meditate and obey the word of God consistently, you begin to live a holy life because you’d be SHAPEN, SHARPENED, CONFORMED, and TRANSFORMED into the image of Christ.
My prayer is that the Holy Spirit continually brood over you, and that He helps you to daily stay with God’s word so as to remain PURE in this impure world in Jesus Name.
